Russia isn’t Gog. See how a Bible atlas clears up a Russian conspiracy
Is Russia about to attack Israel? Well, we need to take a closer look at a Bible atlas. Or better than that, we should look at several. When we do, we find that Russia may not be the ‘bad guy’ we thought they were. For the past century, many teachers and pastors who teach Bible prophecy have concluded Russia is to blame. What are they to blame for? Around the time that the Scofield Bible was published in the early 1900s, it has been suggested that Russia will lead a military invasion against Israel. Many teachers present this as an absolute biblical fact.
But is it true? A bible atlas can clear things up
Russia is in the news a lot lately, but not for the reason I will discuss in this article. Russia has been continuously blamed for conspiring with Donald Trump to win an election. Most clear-minded individuals see the truth in that Russian conspiracy. But I’ll leave that hot mess of hysteria alone. Let’s take a look at another Russian conspiracy that has been paraded as unmistakable truth.

Decide for yourself.
Watch this video from SkyWatch TV. In the video, Joel Richardson provides information from one Bible atlas after another that disproves the popular theory about Russia.
I was fortunate to visit Russia many years ago. As a part of a team of Christian ministers, we taught children, youth, adults, and Church leaders. Our subjects were focused on family and Christian living. To my surprise, the country’s education system was remarkably open to the Gospel. They were coming out of the suppression from the Soviet era. One of the efforts the government supported was the acceptance of biblical teaching within the schools.
At the time of those two missionary trips, the school systems of America were closing their doors to any form of Christianity. And just a couple of decades later, it’s much worse. I thought that was odd because all of my Bible prophecy teachers, from my youth, had assured me that Russia was the big evil of the last days. Only The Antichrist could be worse.
I don’t believe that anymore. After much research, I’ve concluded Russia is just another country filled with people who need Jesus. They have a stronger moral compass than what we find in the leadership of the United States. Yes, you read that right. And no, I’m not a Russian spy. 🙂 Perhaps as NSA scours my site for evidence of Trump spies, they will increase my page views. 🙂
(Just kidding, please don’t lock me up.) Sorry, I digressed.

The Truth about Gog and Magog, the Bible atlas
As you take the time to watch any of the videos you’ll see Mr. Richardson make the point that Russia is not the likely leader of the invading forces of Ezekiel’s prophecy. And once you learn what good Bible scholars have concluded, you’ll see that the prophecy points to another nation. The Book of Revelation was written just outside the borders of that nation. Another interesting note is that the seven Churches of Revelation are the focus of the opening chapters in Revelation. Those Churches were in Asia-Minor. The Nation of Turkey claims that region today. In all likelihood, Turkey will take the role that has long been suggested that Russia would fill.
