Revelation 2:17

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

What will you find written on your white stone? Will you receive one? I pray so. It will be a stone that marks a great victory.

Chapter 1

The watcher stood in statue-like stillness. In silence watching the teens, unseen by everyone in the library except one. Wrapped under the cover of three pairs of massive pearl-white wings and inside his powerfully muscular twelve-foot frame, there lurks a force of such immense power that only a handful of beings across the three heavens and throughout the five worlds could match him in battle.

Azrael waits.

But time doesn’t wait, and so the progression of human history races ahead in twenty-four sequences toward a brutal climax. That race to the end waits for no one. The last battle of a war that spans millennia draws closer. The when is unknown, but it is as certain as the carved-in-granite truths of the third heaven.

A dark secret, hidden in ancient history, awaits discovery.

Leo stopped reading, his eyes were tired from the last hour of research that included a dizzying array of old stories, names, places, and lost cultures he had never heard about in his history classes at school. It challenged much of what he thought he knew. But how or if this mysterious history was connected to his old dreams and the more recent visions still escaped him?

After a peek to be sure she didn’t notice, he glanced down at the white polished stone he held in his hand. For the thousandth time at least since his father passed, he stared at the two letters etched into the flat oval stone. The words of his father came to mind. They were some of his last before he died in the hospital. But this time he wouldn’t let himself dwell on them and their meaning since he wasn’t alone. Amanda sat in a chair next to him.

The stone is a secret he still keeps from her…
