In the “latter-time,” a king of fierce countenance shall stand up.
Today, in the “latter-time,” President Erdogan of Turkey is taking a stand against the U.S. In an article linked below you’ll find that Turkey is moving away from the United States and closer to Russia.
Is he, President Erdogan, that ruler the prophet Daniel saw in a vision concerning the “latter-time?”
Daniel saw visions and wrote prophecies about a future period that he called the “latter-time.” During that time a fierce king would rise to power and lead a mighty army of nations. Ultimately that group of nations that Daniel saw would go into Israel and try to eliminate the Jewish nation. Is that leader the Turkish president? Are we in the “latter-time” that Daniel referred to?
An opinion based on Bible fact
Based on scripture, it is my belief that the coalition of forces Erdogan is trying to bring together is the military force Daniel saw. I also believe, based on scripture, that Erdogan is not the king of fierce countenance Daniel saw. I expect another leader in the years to come to take that role. Daniel saw it happen in a vision. In the near future, still years away, the world will see this prophecy unfold.
The following articles make clear that president Erdogan has become bolder in his ambitious goal to return the country of Turkey to the position of power it once held. They controlled the seat of power in the Ottoman Empire. They held it for centuries and President Erdogan fully expects to return the country to that lofty position.

That last verse is of particular interest when considering President Erdogan. He wants to be the end of days king who will lead the Arab and Muslim armies against Israel. The Bible isn’t his religious book of choice. I make that statement with obvious sarcasm while knowing that he is one of the current Muslim leaders who is unknowingly fulfilling Bible prophecy. Erdogan hopes to stand in Jerusalem and rejoice over the defeated and fallen soldiers of the Israeli military.
My belief that he won’t be the “king of fierce countenance,” is based on several passages that point to someone else. I will develop articles supporting that view in the future. As the wise master Yoda once said, 🙂 “there is another.” Is this biblical proof of another fierce king rising?
