Iran, it’s power fading. History repeats in the Middle East

Iran has an important role in Bible prophecy.

The country of Iran is in trouble, and they know it. But despite the growing troubles, they persist in efforts that will make things worse for them. Social unrest is evident throughout the country. Long lines of citizens, hoping to purchase daily supplies, are getting harder to hide. Like the proverbial story of the king with no clothes, the religious leaders are trying to put on a good show of national pride. In hopes of keeping the fragile country together, they point at enemies outside their borders.

The United States and Israel have been their favorite targets of hatred. And of course, that hatred continues as the proud nation of Persians loses ground in the fight to control the Middle East. History is repeating. The prophecies of Daniel and Ezekiel give us important clues about what to look for in the future.

What once was, will be again in the Middle East. History repeats itself and so do the words of the ancient prophets. Persia was once a dominant power in the Middle East. Daniel saw this before it happened. It came in the form of a vision of a ram with two prominent horns. Persia’s power stretched across the region, into South-Eastern Europe, and across Northern Africa.

Right now, Iran is facing dire financial, military, and social troubles within its own borders. Their military efforts have crossed their own borders and passed through Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. The current war in Yemen isn’t between fellow citizens of Yemen. It’s a fight between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

All of this is a repeat of Persia’s military expansion many centuries ago.

When Daniel asked when these things would happen, an angel told him he was seeing a vision of the last days.

 Iran in the Bible

Ezra 1:1

In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing.

Isaiah predicted a king named Cyrus would rise to power from Persia and defeat Babylon. After that, he would release the captives of Israel. He would allow them to return to their land and rebuild their country and temple. It happened exactly as the prophet predicted.

Daniel 10:20

So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;”

An angel revealed to Daniel that spirit beings were engaged in unseen warfare that was reflected in battles between nations.

In those two verses just quoted, we see an encapsulated version of Iran’s history and its possible future. An angel told Daniel, that a future power would rise from Peria, then dominate the Middle East. And then shortly after that, they would be defeated by another power. And historians recorded their rise to power when they defeated Babylon. And as Daniel recorded, they were eventually defeated when Alexander the Great met them in battle.

Well, we appear to be in the middle of a repeat of that same story. Turkey will soon play the role that Alexander the Great’s armies once played. As Iran clings to fading power, Turkey is rising. As the United States considers how it can retreat from the region, Turkey is lying in wait to pounce. Many Bible prophecy teachers have their eyes on Russia, but that is not where the trouble will come from. Turkey is the problem and they will soon dominate, filling the power vacuum left by Iran.

See the article linked below which helps to tell the bleak future they are facing.

Iran Will Soon Face A Tsunami

God’s Word, as always, will prove true. The prophets, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote the words long ago that would instruct those who would encounter the events of the last days. We don’t know how close we are, but we are closer.

Keep watch and stay alert.
