Joel Richardson on the Syrian war and God’s Covenant with Israel
Israel: what is their relationship with God today? Are they still in a covenant relationship with the Lord? Have they lost their favor with God and can only hope to latch onto the coattails of Christians in order to get into heaven?
On this subject, I’ve shared some thoughts here and here.
Other scholars, teachers, and authors have weighed in on this subject. The spiritual condition of Israel is a hot topic in the field of Bible prophecy. Israel is also a contentious issue on a political and social level as well. It’s a good idea for Bible students to have a good understanding of the many reasons why that tiny little nation is so often at the center of debates, and wars.
Joel Richardson’s thoughts
In the video posted below, Joel Richardson discusses many topics of interest to Bible prophecy students. He has a very reasonable approach to prophetic issues while avoiding the sensational, and sticks to the biblical text. With a lot of experience on the ground in the Middle East, he speaks with authority on the subject. He has opinions that many people take issue with but he also reflects a great compassion for all sides.
He opens the video with some ministry updates and shares news about a recent release of an important movie. The movie addresses the covenant God made with the Nation of Israel. That’s what I really want to draw your attention to.
Covenant and Controversy part three
Israel has been a point of contention and controversy for thousands of years. Abraham, the father of the Hebrew people was given many Promises by The Lord. Among the promises were a permanent country, a Savior, a Messiah, an eternal city, and an eternal blessing for all the world. Those were and are some big promises.
When you have time, I encourage you to watch each video. The second is only a preview advertising the full-length movie. They are both well worth your time.
Acts 2:36
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
Acts 1:6
So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
Jeremiah 31:31
“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.”
Let me know what you think.
