The “One-World Government is coming.” Can we escape it?
(My apologies to those of you who are bat-sh _ _ crazy. I mean no disrespect.) So, here’s a scary thought. A one-world government. It’s coming. Boo!
And who will lead this governing body? It won’t be President Trump, Obama, Bush, or Nikolai what’s-his-name. Sarcasm alert. Please don’t let it be Bill Gates! The correct answer to that question is “pee-in-your-pants” scary. The Antichrist, according to numerous passages, will sit at the top of this final earthly kingdom. According to numerous Old and New Testament prophets and writers, the one-world government will have that ominous person as a leader. The Antichrist will be a mere mortal. That’s according to many biblical scholars who take a literal point of view. In the future, we can expect something like what happened with Judas Iscariot. Judas was indwelt by Satan. But this article isn’t about Bill Gates or the Antichrist. In this post, we’ll consider the final governing body that has been the subject of countless scholarly and fictional works for the past several decades.
Bat-sh _ _ crazy ideas
In addition to those fictional works, we come across many proponents of what I’ll call “bat-crazy ideas” within Bible prophecy circles. They often write and teach on this subject. I hope I can dispel some of those crazier points of view. Or at least get the reader to ask good questions about common theories.
So, in regards to the one-world government. If this governing power will truly control the entire planet, it’s hard to imagine how anyone could escape it. There will be no place to hide from the brutal reign of power.
And in regard to this topic, I challenge the reader to ask important questions. And here’s one you should consider. Is this a correct interpretation of the scriptures? Are we to expect a one-world government? Many Christians will reply with a resounding YES!
Before we give a knee-jerk response, I think there are key issues we ought to consider before we give our answer. And I will give my opinion, but more important than that, I’ll give you what the scriptures say. From there, you decide.
That’s always a better place to start.

A one-world government. Should we believe the stories?
Well, I say, yes and no.
Yes–It’s true that there are several scriptural passages that appear to point to a coming one-world government. We’ll look at a few of those in this article.
But no–the coming one-world government is not biblical. Or, I should clarify. The commonly held view of many prophecy teachers is wrong. We often hear that the one-world government will control every person on the planet. From there, many sci-fi novels and stories arise and along with them, so-called biblical studies suggest the Bible supports this view.
But does it really? Let’s see.
There are many Bible passages from which to choose. So, let’s get some out in front of us so we can try to get the proper context.
Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel’s chapter two
Is it Rome or should we look for another?
40 “Then there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; inasmuch as iron crushes and shatters all things, so, like iron that breaks in pieces, it will crush and break all these in pieces.
41 “In that, you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom. But it will have in it the toughness of iron, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with common clay.
42 “As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle.
43 “And in that, you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery.
The Divine Kingdom
44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
45 “Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future. So the dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”
My thoughts:
Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. In the dream, the Lord showed him a series of empires that would rule over the Middle East. That’s a key point to remember as we consider how to interpret the meaning of all the successive dreams, visions, and angelic interpretations. Every empire, or kingdom, dominated the Middle East and oppressed, controlled, or tried to destroy the nation of Israel.
That is the Lord’s focus as he tells His story. Remember it’s God’s story of redemption. And a central figure in the telling of the story is the Lord’s rebellious child, or wayward daughter, or adulterous wife. God’s authors use several ways in which to describe the rebellious nature of the nation of Israel. As the story moved into the New Testament times, the focus does shift toward followers of Christ. Christians. But according to God’s consistent message, the attention never left the original rebellious nation. In God’s redemptive story, the restoration of the nation of Israel is always an essential element. The story of backslidden Israel isn’t over. It is a grievous error of misinterpretation to believe that. Would any of us want to hear that about ourselves? Do we want God to give up on us when we backside? I think not.
So, when the prophets wrote concerning the one-world government, judgment against Israel was a primary focal point. And during the final chapter of the story, Israel will again be the focus. But with an additional sub-hero. The church will play a role in helping the rebellious child return to the Lord.
The Ingrafting of the Gentiles (the church)
Romans 11:10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.”
11 I ask then, did they stumble so as to lose their share? Absolutely not! However, because of their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.
12 But if their trespass means riches for the world, and their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring

The one-world government in Daniel’s chapter seven
The vision of the Four Beasts
8“While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it, and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.
My thoughts:
In the above passage, I left out the first three beasts to help us focus our attention on the fourth. The last beast is the final kingdom in which mankind will rule. That will be the so-called one-world government. But there are valid reasons to question the popular theory that every person on the planet will come under the control of the one-world government.
Also, in the above verse, we see the little horn, which comes in to take control. That’s the antichrist. In the two verses, we see below, the boasting of the Antichrist continues. The vision quickly moves to a dramatic conclusion. The Lord kills the Antichrist. So we have some great news, but Daniel remains very concerned as the vision continues.
11“Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking, I kept looking until the beast was slain. And its body was destroyed. and given to the burning fire.
12“As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.
The interpretation of the Vision of the one-world government
15“As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed within me, and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.
16 “I approached one of those who were standing by and began asking him the exact meaning of all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things:
17 ‘These great beasts, which are four in number, are four kings who will arise from the earth.
18 ‘But the saints of the Highest One will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.’
Daniel sought understanding
19 “Then I desired to know the exact meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its claws of bronze, and which devoured, crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet.
20 And the meaning of the ten horns that were on its head and the other horn which came up, and before which three of them fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth uttering great boasts and which was larger in appearance than its associates.
21 “I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and overpowering them.
22 Until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.
Different from all other kingdoms
23 “Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth, which will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth and tread it down and crush it.
24 ‘As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings.
25 ‘He will speak out against the Most-High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law, and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.
26 ‘But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever.
27 ‘Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’
28 “At this point, the revelation ended. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts were greatly alarming me. And my face grew pale. But I kept the matter to myself.”
My thoughts:
The fourth beast is a compilation of the beasts or kingdoms which came before it. It’s not a group of ten nations or regions from around the globe as taught by some. But all the focus remains on the four beasts which held power within the confines of the Middle East. Yes, their power reached beyond the Middle East, but what’s the Lord’s focus?
Israel, the Lord’s rebellious bride.
The final kingdom of men, ruled by the Antichrist, will consist of ten nation-states. All ten, with their horns of power or authority, will fall inside the power-base of the four portions of the statue we saw in Daniel chapter two.
But notice who takes a prominent role in the later stages of this story. The saints of God. That’s the church. As the story reaches the climatic ending, the adulterous bride hasn’t yet repented. And the leader of the one-world government is at war with God’s people. That’s the church that we see in the middle of the fight during the final seven years. Whoops! We don’t expect that. At least not according to popular theories.
The end of the story according to the Apostle John.
The Beast from the Sea
1 And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
2 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.
3 I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast.
4 They worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?”
5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
7 It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
10 If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes. If anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.
My thoughts:
In the above passage, there are verses that understandably give us the impression that the Antichrist will rule over the entire planet. We see the amazement of the beast around the globe. And many will follow him. They also brag about his power saying, “Who can age war with him?” But we must take the entire passage in context. At the same time that weak-minded people praise and worship the beast, the strong in the Lord will defy him. But at the risk of life, limb, and economic standing. The saints of God will persevere, resisting the reach of the Antichrist.
The Beast from the Earth and the attempt at a final one-world government
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. And he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon.
12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.
13 He performs great signs so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men.
14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life.
15 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead.
17 And he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast. For the number is that of a man. And his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
My thoughts:
In the last half of chapter thirteen, we see the arrival of another beast. This beast represents the false religion. The leader of the false religion will rally support around the world. Again, the effort is to control every person and nation. But that effort will fail. The mark of the beast is here in this passage. That too is not a European or globally focused effort. The mark will show up around the globe, but even the implementation in the Middle East will face stiff resistance.
I’ll close with one more passage from the Book of Daniel. I believe this passage is critical and rarely comes into play in this discussion. But it should.
In Daniel eleven, we see the actions of the Antichrist. This is the future, not the past. I suggest that effort to implement the mark of the beast is going to face stiff opposition in the Middle East. One of my primary reasons for believing that is because of the military resistance the one-world government of the beast will face in the region. That final government will face military conflict and religious opposition for the entire final seven years of mankind’s rule.
Since the beast will never fully gain control of the Middle East, it surely will fail to control many other parts of the world. And that’s a key component of God’s story. During the Millennium, the nations will visit Jerusalem, and learn the ways of the Lord. Those who follow and take the mark of the beast will go into everlasting punishment.
Daniel Eleven. The wars involving the one-world government
Daniel 11:28 “Then he will return to his land with much plunder, but his heart will be set against the holy covenant, and he will take action and then return to his own land.
29 “At the appointed time he will return and come into the South, but this last time it will not turn out the way it did before.
30 “For ships of Kittim will come against him. Therefore he will be disheartened. And will return and become enraged at the holy covenant and take action. So he will come back and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant.
31 “Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation.
32 “By smooth words, he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action.
33 “Those who have insight among the people will give understanding to the many. Yet they will fall by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder for many days.
34 “Now when they fall they will be granted a little help, and many will join with them in hypocrisy.
35 “Some of those who have insight will fall, in order to refine, purge and make them pure until the end time, because it is still to come at the appointed time.
Magnified above every god
36 “Then the king will do as he pleases, and he will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will speak monstrous things against the God of gods. And he will prosper until the indignation is finished. For, that which is decreed will be done.
37 “He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god, for he will magnify himself above them all.
38 “But instead he will honor a god of fortresses, a god whom his fathers did not know; he will honor him with gold, silver, costly stones and treasures.
39 “He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.
The king of the North will battle against the king of the South ( Turkey versus Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and others?)
40 “At the end time the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships. And he will enter countries, overflow them and pass through.
41 “He will also enter the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall. But these will be rescued out of his hand. Edom, Moab, and the foremost of the sons of Ammon.
42 “Then he will stretch out his hand against other countries, and the land of Egypt will not escape.
43 “But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt, and Libyans and Ethiopians will follow at his heels.
44 “But rumors from the East and from the North will disturb him, and he will go forth with great wrath to destroy and annihilate many.
45 “He will pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain, yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.
In the end, the leader of the final beast kingdom will fall in battle. Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, will inflict the mortal wound. But these verses and many others suggest there are going to be many people and nations that will fight against the efforts to gain control of the entire planet.
Which side will you join? The beast’s side–that will be the easy choice. No threats of death.
But the dragon slayer, cloud rider, and shepherd-king will prevail. Many people and nations will prevail and persevere with him. The individuals who persevere will shine as the stars of heaven.

Hello readers,
I’ve served as a children and youth pastor for over three decades. It was a great honor and pleasure to serve the Lord in that way. It’s been my prayer, that many of them will learn of Jesus’ love and decide to commit their lives to follow Him.
I wrote the fiction story, ‘White Stone Watcher’ for them and their parents. In the story, we see a young man, and his best friend, Amanda. They face the normal challenges that today’s kids face at school. But with one huge difference.
Their challenge is twelve feet tall to be exact with an enormous set of six wings. Just like the prophet Isaiah saw in the throne room of God. He’s a Watcher, an angelic being who is still invisible to Amanda. The messenger from God is about to lead both of them on a spiritual journey. They find they can’t escape the unseen war that rages all around them. They will become key players that God will use in the battle between the Sons of Darkness and the Children of Light.
I invite you to pray about a youth that might enjoy and benefit from this story. As the world grows darker, our youth must become aware that the Lord is calling them to join the Children of Light in the fight for what is righteous. We’re all involved, whether we realize it or not. If they won’t go to church, maybe they’ll read a book about someone just like them facing challenges at school.
God is calling them.
Praying for the youth, and spiritual awakening.
Pastor Doug
