First Peter, the top verses, which ones are your favorites?

Browse some of the top verses in First Peter

In this post, we look at some of the top verses in First Peter. I’ve pulled these verses from one of my favorite Bible sites. I love it because of its simplicity as well as its usability. Search any book of the Bible or nearly any biblical subject and you’ll find a ranking of the popular verses from the book or on the subject.

As you might guess, there are a number of key prophecy verses and passages in the book.

Here, in the first of two books written by the Apostle Peter we find many well-known verses. Which one is your favorite? Are there verses that I or those at Topverses have left out?

Let me know.

In addition to the top verses in First Peter, here’s a brief video summary from the Bible Project.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds, you have been healed.”

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

To this, you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation

1 Peter 1:22

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.

There’s more than just the Top Verses in First Peter

Don’t stop at just the top verses in First Peter. Read the entire book. It only takes a few minutes. When you read an entire book it helps you understand the context and grasp the whole meaning and reason as to why the author wrote it. If it isn’t already, try to make that a habit. Read chapters and entire books to better your understanding of God’s story of redemption and love.

Go beyond just a few verses. Get a generous helping of God’s Word. You’ll be glad you did.
