Turkey: Is this country, the Goat in Daniel’s prophecy?
Turkey will become the goat of Daniel’s prophecy in the coming years. Or so say, several Bible scholars.
Daniel, the famous Jewish captive became God’s chosen prophet. And In that role as prophet, he saw a vision of a ram and goat at war with each other. And in that vision, the Ram and Goat each represented two regional powers. Those powers fought for control of the Middle East. But now, many Bible prophecy scholars are again speculating about Daniel’s vision. Because he saw the vision about 2500 years ago, many assume the prophecy was fulfilled long ago. But is it destined to unfold in the near future as many suggest?
I agree with the scholars who see Iran as the ram and Turkey as the goat. But I won’t detail that prophecy in this article but will share a few articles from “The Institute for the Study of War.” That website studies the war footing of the various militaries and nations. On the site, regular assessments are made on the progression of the war in the region.
The U.N. declares peace
War continues there and is showing no sign of letting up, no matter how many declarations of peace the United Nations try to force on the countries.
I’ve highlighted four articles that show an unbiased perspective on Turkey’s activity. They are military experts who present a non-biblical view of Turkey’s military activity in the region. It’s clear the nation is very involved in an effort to push back against other nations. In some border regions, it looks like the early stages of a future war. This will take years to develop but the sparks of a greater conflict are already visible.
Turkey’s Erdogan Pivots to Target U.S.-Backed Force in Syria
January 16, 2018
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is preparing to attack America’s local partner in northern Syria on two fronts along the Turkish border. Russia and the Bashar al Assad regime support his planned operation, which could constrain the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to the eastern bank of the Euphrates River and possibly neutralize American plans to build an SDF-linked “border security force.”
A supposed ally of the United States they have brazenly attacked militia groups supported by the American military.
Syria’s “War after ISIS” Begins as Turkey Attacks America’s Anti-ISIS Partner
January 20, 2018
Turkey launched an air-ground operation against the American partner force in Syria. The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), in Afrin district northwest of Aleppo City on January 20th, 2018. Turkey’s goal is to extend its buffer zone along the Syrian-Turkish border. Turkey may subsequently attack the town of Manbij, east of Afrin on the banks of the Euphrates River. Turkey’s operations threaten to provoke a widening Turkish-Kurdish war that could unravel the U.S. stabilization effort in eastern Syria. Then place U.S. service members in Manbij at risk, and force the U.S. to reconsider support for the YPG.
The Kurds have a military presence in Iraq and Syria. Their forces are among the most capable fighters in the region. They have led the effort to expel ISIS from the region. Turkey has fought a political and military campaign against them in an effort to crush them.
Turkey Escalates against Pro-Assad Forces to Protect Afrin Operation
January 30, 2018
The Assad regime and Iran attacked Turkish forces that deployed into Syria. With apparent Russian permission to establish a blocking position near a critical front-line south of Aleppo City. Turkey’s goal was to deter Assad and Iran from providing military support to Kurdish forces defending Afrin against a Turkish offensive.
Iran and Syria are starting to realize the Turkish military must be confronted. The ram and goat war has already begun. But it is lost in the bigger regional conflict.
Turkey Exploits Seams of Russo-Iranian Coalition in Idlib
February 6, 2018
Turkey is succeeding in its campaign of imposing a cost on pro-regime forces in northwestern Syria. Turkey’s recent deployment to reinforce the de-escalation zone in Idlib Province capitalizes on the divergent tactical prioritizations between Russia and Iran in Syria.
The pride and thirst for power are slowly working. Forcing the aspirations of both countries into a war that neither one wants.
This is only the beginning
So, Turkey is doing more than protecting their southern border. They are pushing toward the goal of becoming one of the most powerful nations in the world by the year 2023. And they expect to become the prominent voice and power in the Middle East. But that effort will put them in direct conflict with Iran which desires the same thing.
So, we’ll see how that goes in the next few years. Because it looks like the Bible gave us a sneak preview of the battles to come.
