Assyrians Genocide

Assyrian Genocide: Turkey’s Ottoman Empire and Slaughters

In the Assyrian Genocide, from 1914-1918, historians remind the world about another genocidal episode perpetrated by the Turkish government. I say ‘another genocidal episode’ because the Turkish government was guilty of a much worse slaughter. Though, to this day, they deny that it ever happened. But it did. Surviving families still live and give valid testimony of what occurred. The other and better-known massacre is known as the Armenian Genocide. During the same time, genocide was a popular act of war in the dying Ottoman Empire. While much of the world was preoccupied with World War One, Turkey was committing genocide. I believe they will do that again on a grander scale.

In viewing a YouTube video of the Assyrian Genocide, I was reminded of Bible prophecy. A great empire that once ruled over the Middle East will rise to power in the last days. Many Bible scholars believe that the revived empire is, or will be, Rome. I believe the revived empire is the Ottoman Empire. The scriptures point to great wars and battles in the final days. Rome is never mentioned in the key prophecies of the last days before Jesus returns. But the region known as Turkey was mentioned many times.

Prophecy foretells the truth

God’s anointed prophets, those inspired to write and speak, wrote the truth. And they often wrote of the region of Asia Minor. Or Mechech and Tubal. Or Gomer. Another prophecy of the Kings of the North seems to point directly at the modern-day country of Turkey. There is very little support for a revived Roman Empire. Only in fiction stories.

So, back to the Assyrian Genocide. In the final years before the Ottoman Empire died, they attempted to annihilate the Christian Assyrians. As well as the Armenians. Both groups were predominantly Christian. They have deep historical roots that go back to the days of the Disciples and the Apostle Paul.

With correct biblical interpretation, we should expect the final beast kingdom to arise from Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, or Iraq. My bet is on Turkey. Especially considering the famous Gog and Magog prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

A lesson learned from the Assyrian genocide.

The final beast kingdom will persecute the followers of Jesus. Just like the Assyrians and Armenians of 1914-1918. The Church of God must prepare for the inevitable terror of the last days.

Please prepare yourself and your family. Time is growing short. Many in the churches of the West are expecting a different result. Many expect to be raptured to go have dinner with Jesus while the world goes to Hell.

Others expect the church to change the world into a world of peace before the Lord returns.

And still, other Christians think that most prophecies were already fulfilled. Or they were mere allegories with deep meanings for scholars to argue about?

No. As the prophets declared, the beast will persecute the followers of Jesus. They will endure the same fate as the Assyrians and Armenians. Jesus is coming. So prepare. Get ready. The Antichrist will arrive to persecute the Church. The Lord Jesus will arrive later, once the great testing of Jacob’s Trouble draws to a close.

Please don’t ignore the prophet’s words. Or the Lord’s.

The Assyrian Genocide: A Fate Worse Than Death

The First Beast is the Antichrist/revived Empire. Revelation 13

1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads.

2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard. Its feet were like a bear’s. And its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.

3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound. But its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast.

4 And they worshiped the dragon. For he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?”

5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words. And it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months.

6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation,

8 And all who dwell on earth will worship it. Everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

10 If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes. If anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain.

Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

The Second Beast is the false prophet

11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.

12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence. c And makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed.

13 It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people.

14 And by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of d the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth. Telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,e to be marked on the right hand or the forehead.

17 So that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark. That is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

18 This calls for wisdom. Let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man, and his number is 666. f

Assyrians Genocide
The Assyrian Genocide happened at the hands of Turkey. They will attempt something far worse in the future.
