The king of Israel came as a baby a Christmas Miracle

A Christmas Miracle: Jesus’ birth was prophecy fulfilled

The birth of Jesus was the first Christmas miracle.

The first Christmas miracle had nothing to do with an angel getting wings, a little boy with a drum, or a crotchety old man learning to be nice to people. It was about Jesus. There are numerous Christmas stories. Many of them are fun and a welcome part of the season. But, of course, we know that most of them are fictional with a strong helping of Hollywood drama. But the first Christmas did include a Christmas miracle and was not fiction like so many of the other stories. The events of the first Christmas are an important aspect of God’s story. The prophets of the Old Testament told us it would happen. If the prophecies failed, then God’s Word would have been proven false.

Read some of the Christmas prophecies.

A virgin will give birth to a son.

The Christmas child will rule over a great kingdom.

Many prophecies are fulfilled during the birth of Jesus

The Birth of Jesus was an important Bible prophecy.

Bible prophecy is a very popular topic among many Christians. But unfortunately, there is a larger percentage who ignore it as a side issue. Well, it’s not a side issue within God’s story. During the Christmas season, families will gather and read the story of the birth of Jesus. Hearing the story keeps us focused on the reason for the season. We should remember that Bible prophecy played an important role in the story.

Do you ever wonder why the Magi showed up to worship the child? It was because they knew about the prophecies. And they weren’t even Jewish. It’s likely that they learned about them from an old Jewish prophet named Daniel or some of his friends.

Even the stubborn religious elites knew about the prophecies. But they were too busy looking proud and arrogant to worship their future king.

Luke 1:26-38 tells the Christmas Miracle

26  In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

27  to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary.

28  And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”

29  But she was greatly troubled at the saying and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.

30  And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Behold you shall call him Jesus!

31  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.

32  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,

33  and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom, there will be no end.”

34  And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be since I am a virgin?”

The Power of the Most-High will overshadow you!

35  And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most-High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.

36  And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

37  For nothing will be impossible with God.”

38  And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

He is the reason for the season!

Merry Christmas
