Daniel’s four beasts: A video study from Joel Richardson
In Daniel’s series of visions, he describes four beasts and four kingdoms. But that’s a relatively small part of his book. Though it is an essential one. Joel Richardson makes an extremely important point in a new video series. He focuses the viewers’ attention on Daniel’s chapter seven. In doing so, he makes an important point that all Christians should consider. And a point which, especially Bible prophecy teachers should take special note of.
In the center of Daniel chapter seven, we have the apex, or mountain top, of all biblical prophecy. And the apex isn’t the Antichrist, or a one-world government, or a cataclysmic earthquake. No, the central point of Bible prophecy is Jesus Christ.
In Daniel chapter seven, in which the prophet describes four beasts, including the terrifying final beast, Jesus is the mountain top of all of the visions. As Joel Richardson points out, we often miss that point if we focus on “end-of-the-world” scenarios. This is Bible 101 theology! Jesus should always be the focus. He is the mountaintop experience for those who seek truth in the scriptures. Students of the scriptures should learn to ‘self-correct’ if they find themselves steering into areas that get our attention off of the Lord’s glorious central point. Jesus Christ.
Daniel 7:13
“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.”

“As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

Deciding on the identity of the four beasts or kingdoms
Do we know the identity of the four beast kingdoms in the Book of Daniel? If we do, then it leads us to conclude, when we see the fourth one we can expect Jesus to crush it and set up his own kingdom. According to most biblical scholars, we have already seen the four beast kingdoms. So where is Jesus? Where is his kingdom? If it’s already set up on the earth, as many suggest, it’s not so great a kingdom after all.
Is that blasphemy or just stating an obvious fact? The “kingdom-to-come” that the prophets foretold is not in power on the earth…yet.
Many prophecy teachers today and in the past have made their conclusions about this subject. For many, the identity of the four beast kingdoms is well-known and a biblical fact no longer disputed by accepted prophecy experts.

The last King in the real-life Game of Thrones
A king needs a kingdom.
In a real-life Game of Thrones, an evil king will take possession of a kingdom in a final conglomeration of kingdoms. The Bible forewarns of an evil king who will reign over ten weak rulers. His reign will be devastating, terrifying, and cruel. But his time in power will be short-lived.
At an appointed time, in mankind’s future, a mysterious figure known as the Antichrist will become king of a confederation of nations. Once he does, The King of Kings and Lord of Lords will swat him out of power. The One and only True King, The Lord Jesus Christ will swat him like a bothersome fly before his reign reaches four years. This man and his rule are predicted in many Old and New Testament passages.
This passage, Daniel 7:11-14, gives a synopsis view of the last evil king who will reign over the world’s last empire. It’s good to know his time will be short because the world, literally, could not survive if his reign was any longer.
So, let’s rejoice. The Lord is good. He has given us a way to eternal life. We have a great destiny before us.
