Dr. David Jeremiah answers a young girl’s Rapture question

A young girl asked a question. Dr. David Jeremiah gave an answer.

When Dr. David Jeremiah speaks, literally millions of people listen. Not all at once usually, but over time, his sermons and messages reach millions of people worldwide. And deservedly so. Dr. David Jeremiah is an excellent teacher, speaker, and pastor.

Just below, I have posted a video of Dr. David Jeremiah speaking before another huge crowd of believers. In it, he answers a question posed by a young girl. As a former children’s pastor myself, I appreciate that he takes the time to answer the questions of young believers. Like Jesus, Dr. David Jeremiah understands that the questions of little girls are just as important as those of adults.

The young girl’s question for Dr. David Jeremiah:

The young girl asked a simple question. Here it is.

“Dr. David Jeremiah keeps talking about all the signs that are developing concerning the soon return of the Lord. And then in the next breath, he says, that nothing needs to happen before Jesus comes back to take us home to be with him. Now, mom, that doesn’t make any sense to me. Either there are signs or there aren’t signs. What does the Pastor mean?”

It was a great question. And the Pastor went on to answer it as you can see if you watch the video. But his answer has some fatal flaws in it. And I don’t use the word ‘fatal’ too loosely. Thousands upon thousands and tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of people will likely die even though they believed that Dr. David Jeremiah gave a beautiful and wise answer to the little girl’s question.

I believe the answer he gave is poor and unsupported by the scriptures. But don’t take my word. Read the Word of God yourself and see if these things are true. I say this with humble and earnest respect to all those who believe in the pre-tribulation rapture. And I include the countless preachers, who mimic the words of Dr. David Jeremiah.

Repeating the same untruth, over and over again, does not make it true.

Here’s the video with Dr. David Jeremiah:

Here are some great scriptures to help unlearn the pre-tribulation rapture:

The Man of Lawlessness first and then the rapture:

1Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The Man of Lawlessness 2 Thess. 2:1

1Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to Him, we ask you, brothers, 2not to be easily disconcerted or alarmed by any spirit or message or a letter seeming to be from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has already come.…

  1. The rapture of the church is not secret, how could the evacuation of millions of people from this earth be a secret? What it is though is sudden and unexpected. As in the days of Lot and Noah people will be going about business as usual, then two will be in bed and one taken the other left and so on, there is no such thing a secret rapture. If one person goes missing today just about everybody knows about it, but where they go to, now that is a mystery.

    1. Karl,
I agree that this event could not be a secret. But there are many who suggest there will be a great mystery to it and many will wonder what just happened.
As though, these people are suddenly gone, while the world just shrugs and goes on to deeper wickedness.

That is what’s suggested by many pastors and teachers.

Numerous fiction books and movies suggest planes, trains, and automobiles crash all over the world. People are mysteriously missing. Everyone wonders what happened.
All the while, the Church is sitting at a giant table in heaven with Jesus serving everyone dinner.

That’s the imagery that has been portrayed by countless preachers, teachers, and Sunday School teachers for many decades now.

And so much of it is just good fiction. But not supported by scripture.

Let me know what you think.
