The beast rises from the Mediterranean Sea.
John saw a vision in the Mediterranean Sea. The Apostle John was held captive on the island of Patmos. From that vantage point, he saw the beast from the sea rise to power. It was a vision. In the vision, the Lord showed the last remaining apostle how the final days of prophecy would unfold.
It is my opinion that we are about to see what John saw. (And as usual, I feel compelled to say this. It is still years away as of this writing, but advance notice is important.)
But John saw it as a vision. We will see it in the flesh. Sick, decrepit, and dying flesh, but in the flesh no less.
The world is distracted and so the beast from the sea will rise with very little fanfare. As it does, it will increase in power. When it does, it will appear invincible.
This has confused modern-day prophecy students. The great powers of Russia and the United States stand in the way of any “lesser powers” from rising.
That is unless the prophecies were misunderstood.
News flash!
They were.
The wrong focal point
Russia, China, Europe, and the United States, were not the focus of the biblical prophets. The Middle East was the focus and primarily a tiny little country named Israel. And when a young virgin gave birth to a child–the world changed forever. As you know, that child was Jesus. He made an impact on the world like no one who has ever lived. And he died on a cruel cross to save humanity from their sins. After three days in the tomb, he rocked his death crib and shook the world. He walked out of that tomb, thus proving he was the risen Savior and long-awaited Messiah.
Soon after, he returned to heaven. But he promised to return someday. When he returns, he will do so as a conquering warrior. He will look for one man who will rule over a rag-tag group of infidels. And the world will see a lopsided victory for the King of Kings.
But before then, troubles around the world will mount.
The Antichrist will rise in the Middle East. And when he does, the Lord Jesus will arrive from heaven to defeat him. But not until calamity breaks out around the world. But it will start and end in the Middle East.

The beast from the Mediterranean Sea is rising.
The island of Patmos was a prison camp. Isolated from civilization. No doubt, many hardened criminals had scenic views of the Mediterranean Sea from their prison cells. That’s assuming they had any windows in those dreary cells. It must have been beautiful. But, as prisoners, it would have been hard to enjoy the views. From John’s point of view, he saw a vision that was frightening. The prophet Daniel saw something similar. And it disturbed him deeply.
Don’t imagine for a second, that we will be any less disturbed if and when we see it.

The prophets tell a consistent story about the rise to power of the beast from the Mediterranean Sea.
Let’s take a look at many verses that refer to the same series of future events.
Revelation 12:3
Then another sign appeared in heaven: a huge red dragon with seven heads, ten horns, and seven royal crowns on his heads.
Revelation 12:4
His tail swept a third of the stars from the sky, tossing them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman as she was about to give birth, ready to devour her child as soon as He was born.
Revelation 13:2
The beast I saw was like a leopard, with the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave the beast his power and throne and great authority.
Revelation 13:11
Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. This beast had two horns like a lamb but spoke like a dragon.

White Stone Watcher
Hello readers,
I have served as a children and youth pastor for over three decades. It was a great honor and pleasure to serve the Lord in that way. It has been my prayer, that many of them will learn of Jesus’ love and decide to commit their lives to follow Him.
I wrote the fiction story, ‘White Stone Watcher’ for them and their parents. In the story, we see a young man, and his best friend, Amanda. They face the normal challenges that today’s kids face at school. But with one huge difference.
Their challenge is twelve feet tall to be exact with an enormous set of six wings. Just like the prophet Isaiah saw in the throne room of God. He is a Watcher, an angelic being who is still invisible to Amanda. The messenger from God is about to lead both on a spiritual journey. They find they cannot escape the unseen war that rages all around them. They will become key players that God will use in the battle between the Sons of Darkness and the Children of Light.
I invite you to pray about a youth who might enjoy and benefit from this story. As the world grows darker, our youth must become aware that the Lord is calling them to join the Children of Light in the fight for what is righteous. We are all involved, whether we realize it or not. If they do not go to church, maybe they will read a book about someone just like them facing challenges at school.
God is calling them.
