Israel at War: Hamas a Prelude to Coming Prophetic Events

Israel at War…again. Hamas attack leads to War declaration

On the last Saturday of 2023, an unprecedented attack came from Hamas, the Gaza-based terrorist organization. The result– Israel at war. In a shockingly effective breach of Israeli security, Hamas militants overwhelmed unprepared and ineffective defenses. As happened once before in the nation’s history, the attack came on the last Saturday of the Yom Kippur Holy Day celebrations. On a day of solemn rest– war interrupted an otherwise peaceful morning.

Once inside the borders of Israel, with unmerciful brutality, they fell upon Sabbat-honoring Israeli citizens. As I said, the next several hours were unmatched in the modern-era Nation of Israel. Many called it the Israeli 9/11 event.

Women, children, babies, the elderly, and any human target they could find, were attacked. Their apparent first priority? Kill as many and whoever they found. Their second goal, kidnap as many as possible and take them back across the border. Hamas transported these kidnapped Jews to pre-planned hiding places. Hamas leadership announced that those kidnapped were intended as bargaining chips in future negotiations.

As of this writing, the total number of dead has surpassed 700. That will increase. They killed entire families. Death came for worshippers and young people, full of life. And many people and nations celebrated this carnage. Just as everyone should have expected. Jew hatred is strong with many people groups. It’s satanic.

This carnage of war was a precursor to what will follow. In the days and months ahead, this war will likely come to an end. But other wars will follow. Israel wants to live in peace. Their enemies, like Hamas, want every Jew dead. That is the simple truth. Of course, God foresaw this. His faithful prophets wrote it down. The world is approaching the final chapters of God’s purpose for Israel.

Israel at war. Just as the Prophets Foretold

Israel at war is nothing new. Thousands of years ago, before they entered into their Promised Land, they were at war. Throughout their history, they were either at war or it was at their doorstep. And it’s not surprising. They were warned. If they rebelled, God would use the surrounding nations to judge them with war. In the Bible, we see a common pattern in Israel’s history.

The Lord promised blessings if they would obey, and judgment if not. For short periods of time, they tried to live in obedience. But eventually, pride and sin took over. Open rebellion followed. Then, the Lord brought war to their borders. Often, they would repent and the Lord would offer forgiveness and blessings would follow. But two great lessons seemed fatal to the Jewish People. First, the Assyrians took captives, and then the Babylonians destroyed the nation and their temple. The second lesson took longer to learn. The Romans, with the help of local conscripts, destroyed the nation and temple again. This time the people were scattered to many nations. Their judgment lasted until May 1948. The Jewish Nation was born out of the horrors of the Holocaust.

Israel at war a final time

Now, these many thousands of years later, the same pattern holds. They are in partial control of the Promised Land. But they are in rebellion. Most of the current citizens of the nation are not wholly dedicated to their God. But that will change. The third time will indeed be the charm. Their true King will come to rescue them from their most devastating attacks. Israel at war will play out one last time. But in unbelievable numbers, that will make the Holocaust appear mild. It’s prophesied. One such verse is found in Zechariah. That passage reminds us that the Lord’s prophets often wrote of two-fold prophetic events. Foreshadowing events will be followed by end-of-days events.

The Jewish King, Jesus of Nazareth will be their final and greatest King. They don’t recognize Him as such. But He is the only one who can rescue them during the final brutalities of Armageddon. The Jews will weep with joy when they see Him. It will be a glorious Day.

Zechariah 13: 7-9 The Shepherd Struck, the Sheep Scattered

7 Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, against the man who is My Companion, declares the LORD of Hosts. Strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn My hand against the little ones.

8 And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it.

9 This third I will bring through the fire. I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’

Israel at War Deuteronomy 29: 7

And when you came to this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we conquered them.

In the verse above, we see an early confrontation with one of Israel’s early enemies. The Lord led them to a swift victory.

Joshua 22:12  Joshua leads them into war

And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered together at Shiloh to go to war against them.

After the death of Moses, Joshua led the Chosen People into the Promised Land. And many times into war.

King David at war against the Philistines. 2 Samuel 21:15

Moreover, the Philistines had yet war again with Israel. And David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.

David is Israel’s most celebrated leader. He was a man of war. Israel at war was a common theme during his reign. But a greater king than David will soon lead them. King Jesus, will rescue the Jewish nation

For those who think they can destroy Israel, you are wrong. The Almighty has a purpose for them. He will reveal their King Jesus in the final days as Armageddon rages and the people of the world suffer under Satan’s war with God.

Time is running out for people to decide who they will follow. Choose well.
