Rockets mean no harm

Rockets into Israel. But reporter cautions They mean no harm

An unknown Islamic militant group fired rockets into Israel.

Israel was recently under attack when Palestinian militants sent two rockets into Israeli territory. But of course, no Jewish citizens should be alarmed. A well-respected news reporter gave the following calm advice.

Shepherd Smith said this. “As we know, these rockets aren’t meant to do harm, just rile things up.”

Flying bombs aren’t meant to do harm?

Yes, the end of the world as we know it is coming. And rockets and worse will fly into and out of Israel in the future. But I had to laugh when I heard this comment.

The Rockets get a bad name

Okay, I must have missed something. Rockets are flying bombs. And these bombs flew toward millions of people. But we can all relax. Those silly Palestinians were just fooling around, just trying to rile things up.

The reporter, Shepherd Smith, tends to believe the Palestinians are good people. That’s fine I guess. Even when they try to kill people, they’re not intentionally trying to do harm. They’re just trying to get noticed.

I’m being sarcastic, but what is going on here? How can flying bombs be portrayed as a means of getting attention, Or riling things up, as the reporter indicated?

Fake news is out of control

Shepherd Smith believes the cause of the Palestinians is just. So, he assumes the best of them. Even during acts of war, he assumes they don’t really mean to hurt people. This is fake news at its extreme. We all need to get a grip on reality.

Yes, every side is guilty of fake stories, hysterical predictions, and biblical narratives. How many times have we heard Armageddon predictions in the last several years? And that’s not from the Bible prophecy teachers. That’s from the United States politicians and climate change advocates. How many times were we all supposed to die if a so-and-so politician got his way? Or how high was the sea level going to rise if we didn’t stop using plastic straws?

We can make fun, and many people do, of the hysteria on all sides. But we’ve lost the ability, to tell the truth, or recognize it when we see it.

But the hysterical political debate is one thing. Flying rockets is different. We should all be able to agree on one thing.

If someone sends rockets into a large city, they mean to do harm.

That’s not rocket science.

The rockets were sent from the Gaza Strip. And the city of Tel Aviv was the intended destination. Israeli defense forces destroyed one of the rockets. The second rocket landed without causing injury or damage.

At least, that’s what the most recent reports have concluded. But who can believe any news stories nowadays?

I try to avoid articles that relate to current or active news stories. But in this case, we can expect to see a lot more rockets fired into Israel in the coming years. I just couldn’t resist commenting on the news report that rockets weren’t meant to do any harm.

Here’s some Good News

Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”

Matthew 4:23

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

I hope the Jewish people can take comfort in that fact.

But in other real news.

The Book of Joel warns of future dangers

Armageddon really is coming soon

The Lord will bring the nations into the valley of decision

Rockets mean no harm
