The Fool says there is no God. Psalm 14 The Wise believe

In the words of King David, “Only a fool says there is no God.”

The fool says God is a myth and impossible. That same fool might also suggest that the complex array of life on this planet started by chance a very long time ago. Mathematicians say that theory is impossible. Darwin hinted at the same thing if the right fossils weren’t ever found, which they weren’t.

Another fool might suggest that alien life forms planted seeds of DNA on our planet long ago. But where did those aliens come from, and the ones before them, etc?

I think David had it right. The best explanation for life, its complexity, and the uncanny order of the universe is God. Many thinkers in this field say a big explosion — the big bang — started everything. That’s the most widely accepted model supported by the majority of scientists. But that theory has numerous problems and many scientists are moving away from that and inviting other theories. It’s foolish to think a massive explosion of a tiny dot of nothing exploded into such amazing order.

Well, David did use the word fool. Don’t get mad at me, talk to David if you want to complain.

Two of the greatest minds

Below are some quotes from Einstein and Newton. They were two of the greatest scientific minds humanity has ever produced. Both believed in God, but only Newton trusted and read the Bible consistently. Newton actually was seriously devoted to the study of the scriptures. He wrote over a million personal notes on his studies in the Bible.

Atheism, God, and Religion

  • God always takes the simplest way.
  • Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.
  • I do not believe in the God of theology who rewards good and punishes evil.
  • I want to know God’s thoughts; the rest are details.
  • I am convinced that He (God) does not play dice.
  • God is subtle but he is not malicious.

Isaac Newton on God A to Z quotes

Psalm 14:1  The fool says there is no God

“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.”

The fool says that there is no God and we live and die with no consequences for our actions. The result: They do abominable deeds and feel no remorse.

Psalm 14:2  God is watching — even watching the fool

“The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.”

The Lord is aware of everything that goes on. He’s not uninvolved in the affairs of men. He is waiting…

Psalm 14:3  There is no perfect person on the earth

“They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”

Humanity has only produced one perfect person. Until Jesus, there wasn’t a man, woman, or child able to claim perfection. And after he went to heaven, we returned to our imperfect ways. When Jesus was born, he lived approximately thirty-three years of perfection. The humans of his day were so proud of his accomplishment they killed him. God looks upon all of us. He sees that we all, in varying degrees, have turned away from God’s good path.

Psalm 14:4  The fool rejects the need for prayer

“Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the LORD?”

As a general rule, the type of person who rejects the idea of God, often claims superior knowledge/wisdom to those who trust in God. Not surprisingly, God’s Word says the fool who claims wisdom is actually dumb, or foolish. Those people won’t call upon God in prayer. They mock that practice as a superstition.

Psalm 14:5  The fool has a limited time

“There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous.”

Those who don’t believe in God, (That’s actually a small minority of people around the world.) also do not believe there will be any consequences for their unbelief. Umm, well that won’t win you any favor in the end. When the fool stands before God, he won’t be able to support his view with facts. It will be too late to join the winning side though. Choose wisely, and in a timely manner. 🙂

Psalm 14:6  God will reward the poor in the end

“You would shame the plans of the poor, but the LORD is his refuge.”

The Lord will not overlook those who were abusive to the poor and unfortunate.

Psalm 14:7  Salvation will come from Zion.

“Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.”

Jesus is the salvation the Lord provided for all of humanity. When he died on the cross, his blood paid the price for the sins of every fool. That includes all of us. His resurrection proved that he was the eternal Son with which the Heavenly Father was well pleased.

White Stone Watcher

Hello readers,

I’ve served as a children and youth pastor for over three decades. It was a great honor and pleasure to serve the Lord in that way. It’s been my prayer, that many of them will learn of Jesus’ love and decide to commit their lives to follow Him.

I wrote the fiction story, ‘White Stone Watcher’ for them and their parents. In the story, we see a young man, and his best friend, Amanda. They face the normal challenges that today’s kids face at school. But with one huge difference.

Their challenge is twelve feet tall to be exact with an enormous set of six wings. Just like the prophet Isaiah saw in the throne room of God. He’s a Watcher, an angelic being who is still invisible to Amanda. The messenger from God is about to lead both of them on a spiritual journey. They find they can’t escape the unseen war that rages all around them. They will become key players that God will use in the battle between the Sons of Darkness and the Children of Light.

I invite you to pray about a youth that might enjoy and benefit from this story. As the world grows darker, our youth must become aware that the Lord is calling them to join the Children of Light in the fight for what is righteous. We’re all involved, whether we realize it or not. If they won’t go to church, maybe they’ll read a book about someone just like them facing challenges at school.

God is calling them.

Praying for the youth, and spiritual awakening.

Pastor Doug

I am so glad I found your page. God gives everyone a second chance. He just took mine one step further. My name is Zach Petersen and last year I was the only survivor of a helicopter crash. After laying alone in the woods on the phone with 911 for a couple hours I was found and spent another few hours trying to get to the hospital. Shortly before arriving they lost me. I was being pushed into the hospital with a BP of 40/0. I was shown that hell hath no mercy but I was also given a glimpse into the tranquil infinity. My knowledge, or what I view as knowledge, of God doesn’t align with what seems to me as most Christians. Reading through your site is so refreshing! I believe that I am here, and miraculously standing, for a higher purpose. I believe he gave me a second chance so that I might give others a second chance.

Albert Einstein is one of my heros. His journey through not only science but spirituality is impeccable.

      That’s an interesting story, Zach,
      To put it mildly.
What insights or “knowledge” do you have that you believe we should know?
What “second chance” are you going to help people with?

      Please expound upon your thinking.
Curious minds need to know. 🙂

Let me know what you think.
