The Lord sits on His Throne. Praise the Lord! Psalm Nine

Psalm Nine: Praise the Lord who sits on the throne

The Lord sits in the heavens, while the nations await word from Him. He will bring a just and fair reward to those who trust in Him.

Revelation 19:11

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice, he judges and makes war.

Pulpit Commentary

I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.
Verse 1.I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; rather, I will give thanks (Kay, Cheyne, Revised Version). The thanks are special for a great deliverance – a deliverance from some heathen enemy (vers. 5, 15), who has been signally defeated and almost exterminated (vers. 5, 6).
It has been conjectured that the subjugation of Ammon (2 Samuel 12:26-31) is the occasion referred to (‘Speaker’s Commentary’); but the expectation of further attack (vers. 17-20) scarcely suits this period, when David’s wars were well-nigh over.

Pulpit Commentary Continued

Perhaps the earlier victory over Ammon and Syria (2 Samuel 10:6-14), which was followed by the renewed invasion of the same nations in conjunction with “the Syrians beyond the river” (2 Samuel 10:16), is more likely to have drawn forth the composition.
I will show forth all thy marvelous works; rather, I will tell forth, or I will recount all thy wondrous deeds. Not necessarily miracles, but any strange and unexpected deliverance, such as the recent one (comp. Psalm 40:5; Psalm 78:4).

White Stone Watcher

Hello readers,

I’ve served as a children and youth pastor for over three decades. It was a great honor and pleasure to serve the Lord in that way. It’s been my prayer, that many of them will learn of Jesus’ love and decide to commit their lives to follow Him.

I wrote the fiction story, ‘White Stone Watcher’ for them and their parents. In the story, we see a young man, and his best friend, Amanda. They face the normal challenges that today’s kids face at school. But with one huge difference.

Their challenge is twelve feet tall to be exact with an enormous set of six wings. Just like the prophet Isaiah saw in the throne room of God. He’s a Watcher, an angelic being who is still invisible to Amanda. The messenger from God is about to lead both of them on a spiritual journey. They find they can’t escape the unseen war that rages all around them. They will become key players that God will use in the battle between the Sons of Darkness and the Children of Light.

I invite you to pray about a youth that might enjoy and benefit from this story. As the world grows darker, our youth must become aware that the Lord is calling them to join the Children of Light in the fight for what is righteous. We’re all involved, whether we realize it or not. If they won’t go to church, maybe they’ll read a book about someone just like them facing challenges at school.

God is calling them.

Praying for the youth, and spiritual awakening.

Pastor Doug
