The Mark of the Beast versus the Mark of God

Have you compared the Mark of the Beast with The Mark of God?

We’ve heard of the mark of the beast. At least many of us have. Do you realize there is also a mark of God?

Well, there is. There is a mark of God, and it showed up in the scriptures long before the infamous “mark of the beast.” We find the mark of God in the first and last books of the Bible. As well as many places throughout. But the beastly mark is prominent only in the Book of Revelation.

We seldom hear any discussion about what form the mark of God will look like. We certainly never think of a micro-chip implanted into one’s skin regarding the Lord’s mark. There aren’t any fiction books that give cryptic details of tattoos or micro-chips planted under the skin of God’s followers. At least I’ve never heard of any. But there are plenty of novels that refer to the mark of the beast.

Now that’s some juicy and intriguing fiction!

The Mark of the Beast is all the rage lately–quite literally. “The mark of the beast here.” “The mark of the beast there.” And of course, “the mark of the beast everywhere.”

I shouldn’t ignore the latest rage, Coronavirus, and Bill Gates.

Many of the popular social sites are experiencing an increase in discussions regarding the mark of the beast. As the world continues the fight against the Coronavirus, many conspiracy theories are getting a lot of attention. As expected, the mark of the beast is once again, a hot topic.

The Bible doesn’t say that!

I have a few important reasons why I spend time writing many of my posts. This subject is a vital one. Not the mark, or micro-chips, or Bill Gates, or what the Antichrist will do. A major concern of mine is that many Christian leaders are teaching significant errors in the field of eschatology. When Christians repeat what leaders are incorrectly teaching, the responsibility is on the leaders to correct it. But instead of correcting their errors, they write books and double down on their mistakes.

These Christian leaders make money off the fact that others won’t call out the obvious. And worse, too many Christians aren’t equipped to explore the Word on their own and find the errors that the teachers are espousing. That one falls on each individual Christian. We must become better students of God’s Word.

The Bible says nothing about micro-chips.

To repeat, There is no mention of micro-chips in the Bible. That’s a fictional notion that started in the mind of a fiction writer.

I think we should spend some time considering the mark of God. That will be a worthy side-tract for those of us who are too focused on Bill Gates and vaccines. I’m sure we won’t imagine that Bill Gates has anything planned for God’s mark. If he could make money on it then maybe he would.

Some well-known Mark of the Beast verses

The Mark of the Beast

Rev. 13: 16 And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark— the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 Here is a call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.…

The Three Angels and Babylon’s Fall

Rev. 14:8 Then a second angel followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who has made all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality.” 9 And a third angel followed them, calling out in loud a voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he too will drink the wine of God’s anger, poured undiluted into the cup of His wrath. And he will be tormented in fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.…

Check out the Mark of God

Ezekiel has a really interesting story to tell about this. If you read the entire account, you’ll come away with a healthy respect for God’s angelic realm.

There are some seriously capable agents of God in the realm!

Ezekiel 9:4 God’s Mark on the Righteous

The LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.”

Set a mark upon the foreheads

This command to the angels reminds us of the word given to the destroying angel in Exodus 12:13.  And we see a similar mark placed upon Cain in Genesis 4:15. The Lord also will seal the servants of God in Revelation 7:3.

In the Ezekiel verse, the mark is set, but not upon the doorposts, but upon the foreheads of the men. And the mark is the letter tau, in the Hebrew language. It is the mark of a cross. How appropriate is that?

But it doesn’t appear to be a micro-chip by which the Lord’s destroying angels will track the “good people.” Should we imagine that the mark is even visible? I don’t think we should, but the Bible doesn’t say does it?

Verses that point to the Mark of God

2 Corinthians 1:22

placed His seal on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a pledge of what is to come.

Galatians 6:17

From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

Revelation 7:2

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, with the seal of the living God. And he called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given the power to harm the land and the sea.

Revelation 7:3

“Do not harm the land or sea or trees until we have sealed the foreheads of the servants of our God.”

Revelation 9:4

They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Revelation 14:1

Then I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had His name and His Father’s name written on their foreheads.

The Mark of Cain

This is an interesting passage that many people have speculated about. God placed a mark on Cain after he killed his brother Abel. Some of the speculations about that mark had a strong racial connotation. I’ll let you explore that perversion on your own. But that’s not in the Bible either. But my point is this, we don’t imagine a chip that the Lord placed under Cain’s skin so God could track his “whereabouts.”

Serious Bible students need to set aside many of the extreme hysterical positions. We need to ask ourselves a very simple question every time we explore some of these trending news items.

As you consider things, ask yourself this–“What does the Bible actually say?” When you do this, if you’re a serious Bible student, you go to your Bible. But many lazy Christians go to YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter, instead.

Don’t do that. Go to the scriptures for answers. That’s our North Star or compass by which we should get our bearings in this chaotic news cycle we find ourselves in.

Choose to anchor your souls with God’s Word rather than the latest conspiracy.

Hebrews 6:19

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm, and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain

White Stone Watcher

Hello readers,

I’ve served as a children and youth pastor for over three decades. It was a great honor and pleasure to serve the Lord in that way. It’s been my prayer, that many of them will learn of Jesus’ love and decide to commit their lives to follow Him.

I wrote the fiction story, ‘White Stone Watcher’ for them and their parents. In the story, we see a young man, and his best friend, Amanda. They face the normal challenges that today’s kids face at school. But with one huge difference.

Their challenge is twelve feet tall to be exact with an enormous set of six wings. Just like the prophet Isaiah saw in the throne room of God. He’s a Watcher, an angelic being who is still invisible to Amanda. The messenger from God is about to lead both of them on a spiritual journey. They find they can’t escape the unseen war that rages all around them. They will become key players that God will use in the battle between the Sons of Darkness and the Children of Light.

I invite you to pray about a youth that might enjoy and benefit from this story. As the world grows darker, our youth must become aware that the Lord is calling them to join the Children of Light in the fight for what is righteous. We’re all involved, whether we realize it or not. If they won’t go to church, maybe they’ll read a book about someone just like them facing challenges at school.

God is calling them.

Praying for the youth, and spiritual awakening.

Pastor Doug
