Turkey is no longer satisfied with second place in the Arab world.
The country of Turkey is moving to the front of the pack. They expect to lead the entire Arab/Muslim community of nations in the coming years. At this moment in history (2018) that seems unlikely but don’t underestimate the bold ambitions of that proud nation. Things could change quickly in the coming years. Iran is aggressively pushing across the Middle East, but I expect them to wane in power as the Turks rise to the top of the boiling cauldron in the Middle East. Turkish and Iranian ambitions in the region could lead to a military confrontation between the two nations. The prophet Daniel indicates this is a very likely scenario.

The Turks once held the seat of power in the now-defunct Ottoman Empire. A return to that place of power is their stated goal, they expect to get there on or before the year 2023. All of their nationalized efforts are leading to that eventual return to power as the lead dog among all the Arab nations. Don’t expect another nation to lead them, Turkey will not allow it. Most Bible prophecy teachers expect a leader to arise in Europe or from Russia.
Turkey will lead them
Recent uprisings surrounding the seventy-year celebration of Israel and the moving of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem spiked emotions, turmoil, and death. Turkey was aggressive and smart to take the lead in condemning Israel and the United States. I say they were smart because that puts the nation back in the lead among the many nations that hope to see Israel eliminated from the Middle East.
They back up their future ambitions with bold moves, nasty rhetoric, and aggression.
I expect them to fulfill their future role in Bible prophecy. You can read some of that in the verse below.
Ezekiel 38:1-4
The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and bring you out with your whole army- your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords.
Where is the land of Meshek?
Many who follow Bible prophecy will be surprised in the coming years to find that Turkey is the country that leads this vast horde of nations against Israel. I don’t expect it to be Europe or Russia as many have proposed for several decades.
